Hoy se firmó el acuerdo entre los Estudiantes de Chile y el Gobierno sobre financiamiento para la Educación superior.

Llegué a eso de las ocho a la casa Central de la Universidad de Chile donde ibamos a reunirnos los dirigentes de las distintas Universidades que participan en Confech para luego dirigirnos al MINEDUC para firmar el acuerdo. A las 9:00 a.m. subimos al séptimo piso del Ministerio donde esperaba el Ministro Sr. Sergio Bitar y la Sra. Pilar Armanet como representantes del Gobierno.

Participé como firmante del acuerdo en representación de la Federación de Estudiantes de la Universidad de Talca sede Curicó. Solo consignaré que el acuerdo representa un avance sustantivo en cuanto a las posibilidades de los compañeros con menos recursos de acceder al financiamiento total del arancel de Educación Superior y cambia radicalmente el tenor de las conversaciones sobre aquello. Con esto se detiene el afán privatizador y más bien excluyente del financiamiento Universitario y probablemente sea ésta la noticia más importante de los últimos 30 años en cuanto a la igualdad de oportunidades en el acceso a la educación. Sin duda, queda mucho aún por avanzar.

Queda pendiente el mejorar el acceso al financiamiento para quienes no han sido considerados en su totalidad en este acuerdo y, sobre todo, buscar como avanzar en el incentivo a la calidad de la Educación y de los estudiantes sin dejar de lado este gran avance social.
